Twitter dumps LinkedIn

Twitter dumps LinkedIn
LinkedIn has confirmed that Twitter will no longer sync updates on the business social networking site.

The partnership had begun in 2009 but has ceased as of this week.

LinkedIn users can still add updates to the site and share them to Twitter but can no longer do the same when starting over at Twitter.

The most likely reason for the break-up is due to a disagreement over advertising revenue, says Mashable.

Over the past year, Twitter has moved to highlighting partner content and feeding sponsored/promoted advertisements. It is unclear how LinkedIn was monetizing such sponsorship.

Eh.........so it goes to the 2 most useless and socially challenged-enabling websites (regarding person-to-person contact). Both should fail but LinkedIn is by far the BIGGEST waste of time. No use what-so-ever for anything business related. Just a dumb idea that a handful bought into and slowly veered away from.

Actually, LinkedIn is the only useful social networking site out there -- the rest are all recreational nonsense for those with the metal acuity of a 15-year-old.

I received a substantial raise and an extended retainment contract by simply updating my LinkedIn profile with my current position description and making it clear I was considering offers. Not to mention the interview invitations I continue to receive. Can't say that Facebook, Google+, and Instagram have ever done (or ever could do) that for me.

I think this separation is a good thing. LinkedIn is for professionals -- Twitter is for bored celebrities who think the rest of us care every time they take a breath. The two don't belong together at all.
