Apple App Store brings in substantially more money than Google Play Store
App analytics firm Distimo has reported today on some of the intricacies of the Apple App Store compared to the Google Play Store.

The Google Play Store is growing at a quicker rate than the Apple Store, however the latter still brings in substantially more revenue.

Over the course of the year, the Google Play Store has seen its revenue grow 51 percent in the 20 countries analyzed; Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UK and the US.

In total revenue, the App Store saw $15 million in average daily revenue last month, compared to just $3.5 million for the Google Store.

69 percent of the revenues came from in-app purchases, which has quickly moved to the most popular form of casual gaming releases instead of the standard upfront fee.

Well duh!! Apple charges developers more and sells Apps that are often free in other channels. Apple also charges a fee for people that purchase stuff within the App that Apple has no involvement for just so they can make more money. Some would call it extortion but Apple just calls it business as usual.

This study actually helps Google more than Apple. Not only is Apple is going to make you pay double for a phone or tablet, they will charge you for Apps that you can get on competitive devices for free. People will buy products that has free features and apps.

Only Apple enthusiasts will buy a phone or tablet for double the price with the same or limited capabilities as Android products and still pay for Apps that are free. And they are so sucked into Apple that they will defend the art of paying more and more for what you should only pay for once. And that is the product inside the box.

Then there is the customer aspect...Android customers are a lot more sensible in their purchases; they don't pay $400 for a phone with a two year contract and they don't spend $5 on an app when a simple search finds another app that works just as good or better for free.
