'Game of Thrones' director: Piracy does not hurt us

Blockbuster HBO hit "Game of Thrones" is well known to be the most pirated show on television now.

Director David Petrarca doesn't seem to care, however, downplaying any piracy since he says the show thrives on "cultural buzz."



In 2012, each episode of GoT was illegally downloaded almost 4 million times, making it far and away the most downloaded show on television, even ahead of perennial winners like Dexter.

Petrarca says HBO has 26 million subscribers in the US and 60 million worldwide, leaving plenty of dollars for the content to continue.

  I have this crazy feeling that a percentage of those four million will be buying blu-rays or dvds of the show. Many of which who will never subscribe to HBO and wouldn't have purchased dvd's or blu-rays without falling in love with the series.

  Both seasons on Blu-ray are ONLY $30USD each so unless you can't afford it there in no reason not to buy it.
  
  Great book/series and the directors seems to be very smart too as well as much of their support workers.
  
  New season starts end of March, can hardly wait...

  I like Game of Thrones. I hope something actually happens in the next season. The last one really didn't advance anything toward anything and then it was over.
