Ouya will require credit card to download any games
As reported, the Ouya gaming console has begun shipping to Kickstarter backers this week, ahead of a retail launch on June 4th.

The console will begin with 104 published games at launch, all of which are free.

8000 developers have already created developer accounts for the system, and new games are being developed "daily."

There is one annoying caveat for getting the games, however. Users must first enter credit/debit card details before they can download anything, even the free games.

Additionally, Ouya says there will be a mandatory software update right when you boot up the console for the first time, so make sure you are Internet-ready when you get the device.

    Steam isn't designed for 1Ghz netbooks ;)

As for credit/debit problems, that's what us Senior Members are here for :

In the USA: www.blubird.com (Purchased at Walmart) Amex
Kmart has a similar version which is Mastercard

yea pre paid vista and mastercards are great, i wont enter my credit card. Remember when playstation online, got hacked, and a bunch of credit card numbers were out in the wild. they need a points card system.

enter my credit card, not this new in the game. sonys old and it happened to them.

104 Games at launch and 8000 developers already signed up..... I can only imagine how fun it will be sifting through mass amount of crap games with a console controller.....

I'll stick with my tablet & ps3 Controller setup

I hope they get the security right too otherwise it will look VERY bad for them. My CC details are already kept with Paypal and Amazon... and hopefully they will learn from Sony's debacle. As it is there is a $500 limit kept on my CC and people should know that CCs still have the best protections under law... just don't spend money you don't have and keep an eye on your account.

How lame-ass! Way to turn a positive to a negative mate. Wow. You know a ratings system will be in place obviously? Besides, your un-optimised cross-platform tablet games are not designed for a controller. You miss the point of this open-source console... badly.
