LG G3 to start global expansion on June 27th
LG has confirmed its global rollout for the G3 flagship device, starting with expansion to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines on June 27th.

In July, LG says more markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East will receive the device. The phone is priced at €615/£500. The G3 for Asia and Europe will be wireless charging capable, as well.

Featuring a 5.5-inch QuadHD 2560 x 1440 IPS display (538ppi), the bezels are also thinner than last year's G2 with a screen ratio of 76.4 percent.

Under the hood is 3GB RAM, a high-end quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 32GB internal storage and a microSD slot in case you need more room. On the back side there is a 13MP OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) camera with "revolutionary Laser Auto Focus that can shoot stunningly sharp images in a fraction of the time required by conventional phone cameras" and the device has a massive 3000mAh battery. The smartphone is quad-band, LTE-capable, has NFC and can wirelessly charged.

The back has a polished metallic skin which LG claims is fingerprint-proof. Just like past devices, the G3 keeps the "floating arc" form factor and the "Rear Key" for easier and more intuitive clicking.

"The smartest innovation in a fast-evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience," says LG Mobile CEO Jong-Seok Park. This almost certainly is Park's way of boasting about the redesigned Android user interface.

Nice phone, but after use in Korea, gets hot with gaming and extended surfing or videos. It force-ramps down screen brightness and CPU speed when it heats up. They are locked from going further until it cools. Users may not like the aggressive screen power savings settings. In a neat idea, LG lowers screen refresh rate at times to save battery. The new UI is very nice, but either it or the power-hungry 4k screen causes a tiny bit of speed lag when compared with the speedy G Pro 2 (not available in the USA). The G Pro 2 has a 5.9"screen, but is similar to the G2, with a 1080p screen and snapdragon 800 at 2.26ghz. The new G3 runs at 2.5, but is not quite as speedy in menu movements. Gorgeous design, but is bested by the Galaxy S5 quite handily on battery life. The G3 will sell like hotcakes, despite feeling like a bit of a hotcake when used a lot. The 4k video looks stunning with provided stock footage, but most users will not notice a difference because there is little 1080p content. LG is not willing to share the new UI with G2 and G Pro 2 users yet, as this become more obvious when viewing the same UI at 1080p (confirmed by G2 hackers who have added the new UI to the older 1080p phone). Lastly, apps not optimized for 4k will not appear in the app store (candy crush, etc.).

So-so reviews on this phone. I spotted this a few weeks back and thought about this over the Oppo Find 7 but after the not-so-great reviews about the LG G3 and its "washed out" screen, I'm not going this route.

    Overzealous LG.

Appliances are awesome but electronics are so-so. Remember, LG stands for "Lucky Goldstar" and Goldstar WAS crap!!

Not "washed-out"at all. Just not over-saturated, as with some other phones.
