Samsung admits troubles, will reduce smartphone models by up to 30 percent
Samsung has admitted it needs some refocusing and will cut costs by dropping the number of models it sells by up to 30 percent next year.

The company recently saw its profits fall 49 percent year-over-year for the last quarter, and high-level executives have promised investors a more cost efficient company moving forward.

Samsung offers a plethora of different models aimed at pretty much the whole range of consumers, from the entry-level to the premium but only a few models have ever been truly successful.

Over the past few quarters, the company has seen its margins slide and sales drop due to the fierce competition of lower-cost Chinese smartphone makers, most notably Xiaomi and Huawei.

That what they get for being dumb, yeah flooding the market with your devices will get you recognition but when you have like 5 different versions of the same device your just asking for problems. They have so may different devices the can't even update half of them, only the latest versions. Not to mention the same crappy design for 3 times in a row for their flag ship device. I could see this happening a long time ago and I don't see how they were this blind to it happening. Hope they take some tips from the meizu mx pro with its touch fingerprint scanner like Apple's iphone!

This is and was to be expected. I do not feel bad for them.

I was a big galaxy s fan until the 3rd which didn<t offer much more then s2 and now chose Lg flex over galaxy note 3 because Samsungs puts so much software in their phones that the system is always slow after you start adding the apps you really want.

    fire burning.
