A unit of data storage.
Because terabytes are ambiguous and misuse the prefix "tera" as defined by the International System of Units, the International Electrotechnical Commission established Tebibytes in 2000.
A Tebibyte is always 2^40, or 1,099,511,627,776 bytes.
Tebibytes are 1,024 gibibytes and precede , pebi, exbi, zebi and yobi in byte measurement.
