Napster finally sees smaller net loss
Napster announced on Thursday that its net loss for the Q2 2007 was smaller than the loss in Q2 2006 because the service posted higher revenue despite a loss in paid subscribers.

For the quarter ended September 30th, the company reported a net loss of $5.1 million USD as compared to $9 million USD for the comparable period last year. Revenue increased 24 percent to $31.6 million USD.

Napster said it ended the quarter down 20,000 subscribers to 750,000 from 770,000 in the first quarter.

Hope they don't go under. It's real convenient to use it to download a song then rip the DRM off it.

napster is awesome, they just lack marketing skills..

if they can just figure out how to market their concept then it will be unstoppable

They could also try to make their library a little bigger. I sometimes find myself having to go somewhere else for a song.

One word. Marketing. A great product/service is only as great as the marketing that backs it up and gets it out there.

In total agreement. I like not worrying about the quality or the price, but sometimes finding the song i want is a chore in of itself.
