Major League Gaming pulls over 100 domains from GoDaddy
GoDaddy has got to be starting to feel the squeeze.

Two weeks ago, 37,000 domains were pulled from Go Daddy after it was revealed they were formal supporters of the draconian censorship bill dubbed SOPA. Within 2 days, Go Daddy had switched their stance, but the damage had already been done. Many of the domains transferred to companies like NameCheap, who are staunch opponents of the bill.

Three days after that, GoDaddy customers transferred more than 32,000 domains in 36 hours as part of the Move Your Domain Day.

The Move Your Domain Day was a promotion by rival domain registrar NameCheap, which has been making a mint off the poor publicity of Go Daddy.

Today, another large client has left, MLG (Major League Gaming):

MLG would like to officially announce that we have removed our entire network, which encompasses over 100 domains, from GoDaddy.com in response to their support of SOPA. Moving forward, we will be using Namecheap for all of our hosting needs.

MLG is firmly against both the specifics of SOPA and the philosophy behind the bill. We urge all of you to read up on the issue and draw your own conclusions.

I am sure GoDaddy doesn't mind. After all, the whole point of SOPA is to get domains removed.

Now this is starting to become a movement. I like it.

Somehow I feel like this is going to backfire & turn into a government bailout for Go Daddy & they'll still find a way to thumb their nose at everyone while the masses will lose yet another freedom/s & the class warfare, that the elitists claim isn't going on, still wages forward.

I have to agree, other than the bailout. How are these politicians going to explain to their "donors" where all of their "contributions" went. I'm afraid one way or another they'll figure out a way to ram this through.
At the very least a watered down version of the bill will be pushed through, these companies are going to get something for the millions in lobbying they've spent. We can all be sure of that.

No...they read it before...they just expected the public to be a lot more apathetic (like they usually are).

That's the rub... with the way our politicians have creatively written all the laws now, they don't have to explain shite anymore. between PACs, insider trading & offshore accounts there are perfectly "legal" means for them to deny ever having taken a dime for promoting any such personal gains.

Besides, does a one of the American tax payers know where any of the 700 billion in bailout money went? When was the last time any of us heard of any of it getting paid back. You know damn well at least one of those banks would be standing on the top floor screeching at the top of their lungs about how great they are to have paid their loan off.

And then there's the coup de grace, what about the insane, illegal Federal Reserve loan to Wall Street of 7.7 trillion dollars (no that's not a misspelling) that got past us all (the tax payers)? Not only did they get the loan, but they are paying it back at a 'negative' interest rate. Basically saying that they don't have to pay it back. I'd sure like to know where the hell the Federal Reserve got the money to loan them that.

Sorry to sound jilted & fogie, but these guys have become far to ballsy brazen to continue with kind of behavior.

It's almost as if these crooks are seeing how far they can push before it all blows up in their faces. So far like you've said, they've gotten away with pretty much everything they've tried. Unfortunately, things will probably have to get a lot worse to really rattle people out of their comfort zones, and wake them up.

I'd say the 'alarm clock has gone off & finally woke everyone up', but it's like being diagnosed with cancer... it's like everyone wants to deny it, wish it away, hope if they pray to their favorite boogie man that it'll go away, hold down the offending individual & make him promise to stop it; then wait to see if he/she will actuall make good on said promise for the ump-teenth time... Basically I'm about at my wits end of counting the final steps of this 12 step program as to when everyone finally starts jug-a-lugging the bitter cure it's going to take to get rid of these vile idiots & get back to doing things properly. Despite the fact that enforcing some judicial punishments (when/if things come back to common ground) simply don't fit the definition of "fair". I.e., both parties involved will just have to take it on the chin. Or, why in "every" case does there there HAVE to be a complete and utter decisive victor to which there is no hopes of survival?

To be a society that screams & squalls & shits our pants to be all PC & above all other animals we sure do our damnedest to remove the humanity from all aspects of everything else we do... Home theaters, social networking, online dating, online shopping. No mediation & very little to promote interaction. I used to be able to hit a rock concert within 30 minutes of my place almost every month. Now I have to travel 2 hours minimum & the show ain't worth a shit but once every4 to 6 months.

Really... what are we actually doing to ourselves?
