Upcoming HTC Droid Incredible X to feature 1080p, 480ppi display?
According to a 'previously reliable source,' we have the specs of the upcoming HTC Droid Incredible X (DIx) phone and they are high-end, to say the least.

The device will allegedly have a 5-inch display with 1920 × 1080 resolution. Making that even more impressive is that the display is said to have a 480ppi display, a number that blows away even Apple's Retina Display.

Additionally, the smartphone will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone will even have a second LED notification light on the back of the device.

Furthermore, the phone will have an active pen input, placing it in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Supposedly, the phone will use a new pen however, not the same one used by the failed Flyer tablet.

On the disappointing side, the battery will be non-removable and there will be no external storage slot.

Why do they do this (no sd slot & no swappable battery)?

HTC did it with their One X and they lost a sale here on that one too.

Samsung are, in my opinion, the best phones on the market right now.

They probably are not using plastic and using polycarbonate. I wish Samsung would use less plastic at times.

No removable battery means no sale to me either. Basically your phone will be crippled in 2 years and I buy mine outright so I keep for as close to 3 years as possible.

I love my HTC Amaze 4G. I don't see why people care if their little tiny 5 inch screen is FULL HD or not. Mine is 960x540 with dual core @ 1.5GHz and ICS with eligibility to Jelly Bean. Lot's of built in memory and fast. Blows the new IPhone away. Comparable to Galaxy S3 except the screen rez and the blinky eye thing that knows when you're reading. F that!

Paid 350 for mine brand new and outright. Compared to 650 for the S3.

While I agree it's nice to buy something and own it outright immediately, the service for that phone will cost you the exact same amount of money as the service on a Samsung GS3 for $150. Since it seams unlikely that your are not going to have service on your $350 phone, you really just have $200 less dollars than someone who gets it through the carrier subsidized with the service plan.

I am not bashing one phone over another. My previous phone was the HTC Incredible which was awesome for it's day as well.

I'll admit to being a little surprised by the new iPhone as well. I would have thought that they would at least catch up with competition with a new model, but it seems it's not even caught up to phones from over a year ago. I suppose they don't really need to though either since the iPhone people will happily keep paying more money for the same thing over and over again. I guess it just adds to Apple's huge cash stockpile to keep selling the same phone without needing to really upgrade it much.
