Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare unsurprisingly ends 2014 as top selling game
According to research firm NPD, the top selling video game of 2014 was 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,' the latest in the blockbuster franchise.

NPD collected sales numbers from only physical copies sold of console, portable and PC games. Excluding digital sales, which are certainly above $1 billion at this time, total industry sales reached $13.1 billion for the year, up just 1 percent year-over-year.

The full list of games, in order (most of which are unsurprising):

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Madden NFL 15
Destiny
Grand Theft Auto 5
Minecraft
Super Smash Bros (for 3DS and Wii U)
NBA 2K15
Watch Dogs
FIFA 15
Call of Duty Ghosts

I typically like to play COD games and multiplayer of course, but this is the worst COD game ever created. I feel like I'm playing a remake version of Halo.

There is nothing good about this game, I wish they wont allow Sledgehammer to ever create another COD game again. I prefer Black Ops 2 or Ghost more of this Modern Warfare version.

I have not played but saw it and heard back from many many others........This game is not liked by most.

Again, same Ol same Ol, small maps, enclosed spaces, squatters all around.

I have it (well, my kids have it) and while the single-player campaign was certainly entertaining story-wise, the multiplayer was more of the same...just with rocket boosters. Not in any way original or innovative. If I wanted a jump pack, I'd boot up my old copy of Tribes. Anyone remember that game? Now THAT was FUN.

the only games that didn't major disappoint were GTA5 and SSB, everything else was way over hyped and let down a lot of loyal fans.

i don't even like GTA I've always been more of a Driver Fan.

Yeah tribes was great... Great game, great community, I really miss those days. I tried the new tribes game and it just didn't feel the same. I'd love to see T2 exactly as it was in a new engine.
