Windows 10 gets next major update in October
Microsoft has confirmed that the next major update for the Windows 10 operating system will arrive in October this year.

This is a month later than had been predicted, which isn't so bad. The update will be Windows 10 OS version 1809, with the official name being "Windows 10 October 2018 update", unsurprisingly.

Among the known feature changes or additions in the forthcoming Windows 10 update are a cloud-powered clipboard which will synchronize content copied to the clipboard across multiple devices.

It also introduces a dark-theme for File Explorer and improvements to the Windows Game Bar and Microsoft Edge web browser.

There will of course be fixes for common issues, such as the green screen error reported on logout or shutdown reported with some versions of the OS.

Development of the update is scheduled to finish in September.

GAAHHH...I have to re-register half my software every time they do one of these...and I'm sure corporate security guys are just going to love a clipboard that uploads everything to external servers.

These things act like major service packs...but you don't need that for a web browser update, a theme, and some spyware. I bet I could accomplish all that without a restart in under 5 minutes...and without giving my system a new signature that makes a bunch of software invalid.

It must be nice to be a monopoly...you can do whatever you like for no reason at all!

or crack everything to run without the nerfs.

Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.
